Our standard terms and conditions for complete replacement are as follows:

Scope of works: all items will be bespoke, full box, double-glazed, draught-excluded copies of the originals where applicable, and will be made here in our London workshop. They will be fully decorated prior to site arrival, and re-coated after fitting where necessary. Works will include re-pointing to outside brickwork. Plaster immediately around windows and doors (up to 3cm) which is damaged as a direct result of the installation will be repaired and base-coated. Rubbish will be disposed of and sites will be left brush clean. All items will be supplied, painted, fitted and will include new locks and hardware. Please be advised that the removal and replacement of window coverings (shutters, curtains, blinds etc) are not included in the works and should be handled separately.

Joinery is guaranteed for 10 years against defective workmanship. Standard sealed double-glazed units are guaranteed for 5 years against clouding (please note: this warranty may not apply on ornamental or non-standard, e.g.,slim units). Manufacturers’ guarantees (usually one year) are offered on hardware. In addition, work will be FENSA-certified as fully compliant with current building regulations and legislation regarding energy efficiency (Document L1B), unless otherwise specified. All guarantees are insurance-backed.

Windows are currently made of FSC Dark Red Meranti, Douglas Fir, Sapele, or Siberian Larch depending on seasonal availability and finish required. All doors and door systems are currently made of FSC Dark Red Meranti or Douglas Fir. Other types of timber, e.g. engineered timbers and Accoya® may be specified as required, although costs may vary. Original profiles will be replicated as far as possible. We have an extensive cutter library, but in the unlikely event that we cannot exactly replicate an existing profile (e.g., on original architraves), we can commission new tooling, although this may incur additional costs.

Glass: standard sealed glass units in all windows are argon-injected with a 16mm warm-edge spacer bar between one pane of 4mm Pilkington Optifloat glass and one pane of low emissivity 4mm Pilkington KS soft coat glass, giving average U-values of 1.l – 1.3W/(m 2K) across all products. We reserve the right to substitute equivalent alternative glass (e.g. St Gobain Planitherm, if necessary). Toughened glass is included where currently required by Building Regulations. Alternative types of glass (6.8mm PVB-laminated acoustic, 6.4mm PVB-laminated security, krypton-injected Slimlite, self-cleaning, textured, etched, coloured, etc.) may be specified at additional cost.

Wood receives 4 coats of micro-porous white paint (British Standard White as default but most colour matching is possible), or white outside and clear inside should a natural finish be preferred on the interior. Please note: two-tone paint finishes do incur additional costs. Colours can be mixed for a nominal extra charge.

Locks and hardware: all opening sash windows include solid brass lifting handles, a key-operated fitch-fastener and a key-operated vent lock. Each casement window includes a closer lock and a stay or friction hinges as appropriate. Polished or matt chrome fittings can be supplied upon request. Alternative hardware finishes (e.g. bronze, black, nickel, antique brass) may also be specified, although costs may vary.

Terms: 50% deposit to confirm the order, 25% due at time of installation, balance due upon completion. Please be advised that parking charges will be billed additionally if incurred. Orders may be cancelled and deposits refunded in full within 7 days of payment. Please allow about 12 – 14 weeks for delivery. Quotations are valid for one month.
